November Newsletter

In November we are learning about fire safety, introducing 911, and explaining how to act in an emergency. Children will practice fire drills.

2. Stop, Drop, and Roll
3. Stay Low and Go

Fire safety training will be enhanced by kids doing reading, writing, tracing, and drawing practice of above concepts.

Since beginning of the year, children have become very confident with our play room routines. The children are working more independently every day. They have grown tremendously in all areas since the beginning of year, socially, emotionally, academically, and physically.

Special Event - Thanksgiving

This month we look forward to learning about Native Americans and Thanksgiving traditions. We will underscore the importance of thankfulness - not just for the things that we have but also for the interpersonal relationships and the opportunities that we have been given.

Routine Activities - Here are some of the learning activities that kids will be involved in for this month:
- Letter Matching
- Visual Discrimination
- Same and Different
- Reality versus Fantasy - Thanksgiving Theme - Tricky Turkey
- One-to-one Correspondence - Thanksgiving Theme - Thanksgiving is here
- Counting 1 to 10 (under 2 years)

Physical Activities
Yoga - Children will practice walking on their tiptoes, their heels, the outside of their ankles, the inside of their arches and finally balanced and strong on the soles of their feet. We also practiced Downward Dog and Upward Dog feeling the stretch of our calves and the stretch of our spines. We always end Yoga peacefully resting and relaxing ready to go back to exercising our minds.
